In my work I try to see the things that surround me with other eyes, enlarging the details of the objects. My works want to be a starting point for the observer to learn to grasp the most hidden details .
“AUTORITRATTO COVID-19” is my self-portrait at the time of the COVID is a work that reflects the period of challenges and changes that we experienced during the pandemic. In the work, the human figure, depicted in black and white, represents myself, while wearing a facial mask as a symbol of the precautions necessary to protect health during the pandemic. The background of the work is enriched by the detail of an orange flower that also emerges inside the mask. This flower symbolizes hope, beauty and rebirth, despite the challenges and restrictions we faced during this difficult period. I chose the acrylic on paper technique to give life to my self-portrait, as it allowed me to express the complexity of the emotions and experiences experienced during the pandemic. The use of black and white for the human figure emphasizes the sense of introspection and reflection, while the vibrant color of the orange flower adds a touch of hope and vitality to the work. Through this self-portrait, I wanted to capture not only the reality of the pandemic and the security measures taken, but also the human resilience and the ability to find beauty and hope even in the most difficult moments.
